a quick reminder why we don't name and shame:

if the name is published maliciously it could lead to an innocent cmdr being harrassed by other players thinking he/she is a trouble maker
it encourages people to get their retaliation in first in the belief that they do so in self defence, this then gives the person originally reported both reason and evidence that could be used to have that player removed from the group
if the name remains unpublished it gives extra weight to each report we get

but why redact initials?

If anything giving only the initials is worse than giving the full cmdr name, say for example you have a Cmdr called Rolland Rat who is ramming people trying to dock, the cmdr is named on the forum as cmdr R R. ten minutes after the rat has been kicked from the group cmdr Road Runner jumps into the system to take part in the CG, other cmdr's who have seen the forum post about the Rat now think Road Runner is the offender and decide to have some fun. we get a report from Road Runner about the incident and half a dozen cmdr's who were harassing Road Runner in error have to be removed for breaking the rules.

Well, I accepted that a long time ago, but still, I think it should have to be an "opt in" option to be harrassed.

I.e., My initials IRL are BS, and BJS (insert apostrophe after 2nd), so I'll opt-in for any harrassment ... used to it.

More seriously, if I (Möbius noob) do anything close to wrong, please name and shame me here, hopefully with a video.

We used to do this at my longest time employer on our "Friday [E-mail] List". I.e., Google "New York Times Memo List".
