Tried my first Robigo run. Failed miserably half way to my first stop. Was in an anarchy system and got intradicted by a cop and his wing mate. Tried to chaff run and jump but as the jump timer was counting down the cop finished scanning me.
Idea: If I get intradicted and it's just one cop, will kill. If not as someone else suggested fly straight keeping the cop directly behind you, chaff, do un targeted Low wake, then high wake (don't know how I'm going to do untargeted Low wake in time though).

There's actually a keybinding for jumping to supercruise that should do the trick...I think mine is set to Shift+J.

Chaff didn't seem to work at all for avoiding scans from the system security when I was doing some robigo runs. Shooting them once stopped the scan entirely though.

You used Python for smuggling? I tried that few times but never managed to boost and jump fast enough when interdicted. My asp explorer is great for the job, but i still wish i could do this in Python for that extra cargo space it has.

Lol...
I pretty much do most of the things in-game in my Python. Although I haven't tried pirating yet. Only thing I can't use her for is riding around on a planetary surface. ;)
Pirates sometimes dim a shield ring. Used to be that those ships that can keep up with her can't mass lock her except for the clipper. Now the FAS can as well. What I can't outrun I can outfight. She does have Prismatics and mil grade. Although I'm thinking of ditching the mil grade for awhile.

Anyway. You've seen her before when we winged up at the Exioce CZ.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

Python sure is a great ship. Now that im doing missons for the order it's what i use. Great cargo space, decent jump range and it can defend itself quite well (even after i changed power plant from A7 to A6)

I might even try that smuggling with is again sometimes :D

I want something like this ingame. Maybe multicrew will eventually bring in large merchant ships with compartments. And shuttles.

Hello,
Tried 2nd Robigo run. Managed the 1st drop off by killing the authority ship that intradicted me in Anarchy space.
2nd drop off got intradicted at drop off system. Shot the authority ship to stop the scan but didn't kill him. He then followed me to the station and scanned me before I could get in. Failed missions. Lesson: kill all authority ships trying to scan you. The fine is nothing compared to the amount you can loose.
Went to Haz Res and did some bounty hunting the rest of the night. Tomorrow Maia.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

What worries me about that is that FDev seems to have a very odd sense of scale with ships.

In Star Citizen, the Constellation ships are about 60 meters long. They have an eating area, a bathroom, bunks, and some even have a detachable fighter.

The Imperial Cutter is I think 192 meters long. So just over 3 times the size. The bridge is actually smaller than the Constellation in Star Citizen, but the windscreen seems to be a fairly equal size, given the difference in shape.

Even before seeing that other game, I always thought it took far too little time to ride from bow to stern on a planet, and that the view of the pilot's chair while in outfitting should be utterly microscopic... and the windscreen should therefore look like 4 times as big while sitting inside the ship. There are many other windows on a Cutter, and if a person were to see them as any bigger than they could fit a fist through, something just isn't right between those and the cockpit. (And if they are that small, there's no way it's the size they claim it is.)

Even the Python, at about 75 meters long, looks and feels more like it's only about half that big.

I think the scale works better in Star Citizen, not because they are geniuses or anything, but because being able to walk around kept them honest. I kind of feel like FDev has just been throwing out random numbers when describing their ships, and that reconciliation may be the biggest obstacle to being able to walk around our ships anytime soon.

Maybe my perception is just off, and maybe it's because I can't walk around it on foot yet. I do enjoy being wrong sometimes.

That said, if they ever DO get this done, and don't cop out and only let us walk around the cockpit instead of the WHOLE SHIP, anything from a Python up should be amazing, and dwarf most ships in Star Citizen except for the few that are in the capital ship range. Hell, in a Cutter or Anaconda, you could probably play 4v4 paintball if the engine allowed it. This (the walking around, not the paintball) is definitely one of the features I most eagerly await in Elite. It's one of the few things in Star Citizen that almost redeems all the other things that are broke as hell.

Hello,
I remember reading somewhere that this size discrepancy feeling in ED is due to the relative sizes of everything. And that the ships are actually modeled to size. I too sometimes get the feeling that ships are not the correct size, and the only thing I can really compare sizes to is the pilot figure in the cockpit.

Have fun, fly safe.
