One of my older names was "Sithicus". I was playing CRPGs mostly and I almost always played a Paladin or a Cleric. The story behind my character was a woman that sold her soul to the lessor demon for the gift of eternal youth and beauty. However the price to paid was dear as she was made to use her powers of healing to secure souls for ever hungry demon.

I have some back stories to go along but my characters tend to be of a darker nature.

I came up with my when I created a Youtube account. The name I used was 'Nettlebrand', but that was taken and I didn't want any numbers so it was easy to remember, so I mashed Net and the first thing that came to mind which was for some reason 'haufer'. Been using it ever since.

Murhapuro (Murderstream) is an alter ego of Uuno Turhapuro (Useless-stream) who once was tasked to look after a couple of pretty girls for a day and he introduced himself to them as Detective Murhapuro, telling them to stay really close to him so he can protect them.

A bit from wiki:

Uuno Turhapuro is a Finnish comedy character created by Spede Pasanen and played by Vesa-Matti Loiri. Originally appeared in Spede Show during 1971–1973, the character gained popularity through the Uuno Turhapuro films.

Uuno is a ragged man, characterised by his tattered, sleeveless shirt, sparse row of teeth and untidy face, perhaps depicting a Finnish stereotype of loser. His wife Elisabeth Turhapuro (played by Marjatta Raita) is the daughter of rich mining Councillor Tuura (Tapio Hämäläinen). In the beginning of the first film, in the couple's wedding, Uuno is tidy and cleanly, but gets ragged and lazy immediately after getting married to a rich woman. Uuno's main pastime is lying on the couch, overeating, and getting his hands on his father-in-law's money. His biggest virtue is his gift of gab that he uses in settling marital problems, cadging free hot dogs from the stand and seducing other women.

I picked him as my cmdr name as I don't have imagination of my own, and my sleeping and eating habits are pretty much the same as his.
Well.. My forum id would have been pretty much spot on I guess. Never had nickname.

Anyway, I guess that is a mouthful for english speakers so just call me Murphy or Frank if I happen to be on TS one day.
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.

I always assumed that it was intentional, and that you were from Scotland.

As for my name, I've been using it for over 30 years. I originally borrowed it from a Czech hockey player, but later was told that it means "hero" in Czech. That was just a happy coincidence.

Falcon, had nothing to go with games initially.
I am really into planes, especially combat planes. So when my friend and I decided to start a business about 30yrs ago we decided to name it after our favourite combat aircraft, the F-16 Fighting Falcon. We abandon the business idea a few weeks later (school work) but I decided to keep the Falcon name for myself.
Wing Commander 1, was the first time I used Falcon as a callsign for my character in a game.
When I started playing MMOs, I realized that "Falcon" was a very popular name. So I had to add onto it, usually with my initials at the end or a short form of my actual name.
I came across the name "Darkstar" when I bought this space game called "Darkstar 1". That was quite recent. And now that MMOs, starting with GW2 for me, accept names with spaces, I have started using my current Commander name.
My forum ID is just a shortened version of my CMDR name without the space.
As for my ships. Agni - Fire or God of Fire, from Honduism. Durga - Goddess of War (generally speaking). Krystin - is actually a misspelled version of a name of a girl in Sweden, I really liked the name Kyrstin. And Jayne - is short for the name of a special someone, that's why FD would have to pry my Python from my cold dead hands.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

Some really creative names folks! Shame I can't say the same about my Cmdr name lol!

I chose JP76 because it's the initials of my first two names John-Paul, and my year of birth.....I thought it would be like some cool futuristic space code, but in hindsight I really wish I'd chose something else!

To far into the game to clear save now though!
However it's not as bad as a Cmdr I saw in open months ago....'CMDR I like eggs' I mean really! ?

As my commanders name was "Daniel" back in 1984 (no internet there), i thought it would be pretty adequate to do so again.
Of course the name was chosen by another one, so i desided to send his son out in space.
Mc Daniel and McDaniel are assigned too - well, i took an alternative form of spelling :)

Short version,
With many Native American friends and even some stone Sioux Teepee rings on our "century farm" (a homestead from a few years after the American Civil War).

CMD White_Buffalo is the easy way to say and remember the beautiful young Ptaysanwee.

Pronunciation:
Ptay-san-wee

Ptaysanwee
The name is the female instance of Native American Sioux origin.
The meaning of Ptaysanwee is "white buffalo".
