The units with higher integrity ratings have more scruples.
Black Rose wrote:The missing information here is "what is the actual range vs optimal range" For example all weapons have a range of 3 km, but the optimal range is more like 2 km to actually hit the target and do damage. Yes you can hit something at 3 km but the weapons damage is not the same as when its at 2 km or less. Try hitting a moving target at that range with a cannon or a rail gun.

Unless the attacking pilot is a NPC chasing your damaged ship out of a CZ or RES - they can hit you at any range.
Hey ho.

So true and they can jump further and faster in an Eagle than you can in an Explorer ship. They can also interdict the split second you jump into a system and hey are unaffected by chaff and silent running and the list is endless. :x

I wasn't complaining - it was just philosophical resignation. As long as you know what's going on you can react appropriately - see the correspondence on Exioce.

The advantage to being a pessimist (who, me?) is that there's always a benefit that optimists can never achieve.

If things turn out better than predictions, that's an uplifting bonus; if things are worse, there's the warm glow of smug satisfaction.

(Sorry - bit off topic.)
