Sidewinder suicide? It's how I get rid of my fines and bounties...

I just got fined 110 credits because somebody went into the back of me. I had left a station, well clear of the entrance, in fact a few seconds after the crash I left the no shooting zone. I was going top speed and something went into the back of me, and I got fined. This system has a corrupt justice system >.<

You were breaking the law. You were speeding. The system here is no fault unless one of the parties is breaking another law.

"Kill your Speed. Not your Credits" is played on repeat at the stations.

This is probably the same thing that happened in the 900 credit case. A repeat offender.

So.... let's say that you had a bounty in systems X, Y, and Z. They all went dormant and you never paid the fines.

If you do sidewinder suicide in system X, will your dormant fines/bounties in other systems be cleared, or just system X's?

The last time I did it (during the time when I was unable to pay fines in the system I actually got them) it cleared EVERYTHING from my transaction window. I bought a sidewinder, stored my then current Conda, disabled shields, lifted off the landing pad and IMMEDIATELY pulled up as hard as I could and boosted into the closest solid object I could see. Was kind of fun. Just pay for a new sidewinder in the same station with a clear record.

Well, the dormant bounty I was awarded in Altair has expired, and it's disappeared from my notifications, as if it never existed.

It will be a fine now, these don't show up in your transitions, but if you dock in the system that issued the bounty you can pay it off via the contacts menu.

If you don't pay it off it'll hang around forever, but should you be killed in the system that issued the fine and you re-spawn in one of their stations it'll be added to you insurance costs.
