Glad to have found this group. The game just doesn't have enough of a mechanism for law-abiding players to meat out justice to player killers, but it's lonely in a solo game. This sounds like the perfect balance ...

Yes, unfortunately one of EDs failings is the lack of appropriate punishment mechanisms.

Please feel free to add your name to the In game friends list thread, and check out our TeamSpeak servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders.

Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already.

On top of all of that, we also have a Facebook group and Twitter feed.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimatize to the game while having fun.

Finally, if you are interested in being involved, go here to see information about our player group faction, the Order of Mobius. We have our own Discord (voice and text chat) servers for supporters of Mobius, as well as our own Order of Mobius Twitter feed.

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but having only ever played in either open or solo in ED, is there an FAQ or similar that outlines what happens next? How do I play in the "Mobius" group online?

You will need to be added to the group be able to access it.

Ok, so, in the game menu, I see "Friends and Private groups", then in the "groups" tab, I can "search groups" for Mobius, and then "request join". Is this the way to get added? Who accepts the request, and how long might it take?
It looks like there are a few Mobius impersonator groups out there. Are they part of this PvE initiative, or are they flytraps ?

So many questions, I'm sure I'm not the first person to ask this ...

In case you haven't discovered it already, here are the instruction for how to join the group, and how to access the group once your request has been approved by Mobius.

Yes, there are a TON of impersonators.

Mobius generally checks requests every 24 hours.
