Yeah, I saw that too and it's bullshit. I lost a few layers of skin grinding up to post commander thinking that's a good place to stop. There wouldn't be any way it could be higher than that I thought to myself. Grinding missions to me is not a fun activity. So by doing missions the way the system was designed I could rank up that high in 6 months. Or I could grind donation missions again. I cringe at either prospect.

In addition, the cost of the Corvette is also bullshit. As a pure combat ship it costs almost 30% MORE than a bloody Conda? What the HELL where they thinking? Looks like I'll be staying in my Conda for a while yet. I haven't been able to find an activity that pays well and that keeps my attention, god forbid it could also help me rank up. Everything just seems like a massive slog.

I might try smuggling, but I fear that's been nerfed since I heard about it, and I hear in 1.5 it's getting the nerf bat again. So I dunno.

Depends on the missions you take. Pirate hunting and assassination missions are fun. Especially if you’re in a region that has RES and compromised beacons.

Just been running around on a planet having a quiet time hunting minerals and whatever in my SRV.....

Mined meteorites till my fuel got a bit low then went back to the ship.......Or rather called the ship to me......

When aboard I found out I had mined enough for 2 standard multicannon reloads......

There are 2 other levels above this if you mine some more probably rare stuff....Which give you ammo with a 25 and 50% increase in damage....

Adds a bit more to the game if you fancy a quiet time.....

I knew when the game was released and I tried trading and bounty hunting that there was a huge problem. When you can trade and make 2 mil and in the same amount of time blow up ships and make 50k (I'm talking about early E:D, it's better now but still unequal) it's not viable to do what you want to get where you want.

I got my Anaconda trading my ass off. I'm nowhere near a good money maker. It was a pure grind. I wouldn't have the Anaconda if all I did was combat. I'm going to be very happy when Horizons drops, because there will be other things to do.

Just finished some bounty hunting in my Cobra, decided to retrofit it as a combat ship. Not totally satisfied with the build but it did well, I didn't die

Ranked up to Lt Commander, today, running bounty hunting and assassination missions. And I made just under 20m.

Beta 5 - was able to drive a long time and not drop through surface or see floating rocks. Yea!
