I wonder if I should try solo for naval progress.....
Nothing to lose I spose......
I have not seen a progression mission in Months....
And my progression bar in beta shows 0%.....For Fed.....And 29% for Empire....
Which is weird because I have done a shitload of Fed missions and Donated a few quid as well.....
Best thing to do is to find a system/station where most if not all factions are aligned with the Feds (or the Empire). So all the missions you’ll take will count for your progression. Sol is good for Fed progression for that very reason.
Next, only take missions whose effect on your reputation is high. You can see that in the mission screen. Charity missions and most combat and assassination missions are in that category. Missions whose effect is medium or low aren’t worth it.
Avoid missions that would get you wanted, though, like civilians, traders, smugglers, nomads, and assassinations of anything other than pirate lords (conda), terrorists (python), escaped prisoners (Viper), deserter (Eagle) and those that don’t explicitly say that the target is wanted.
Then stack missions up until you have a fair number (20 or 30). Switch between open, private groups and solo while you’re stacking them up. It sometimes causes good missions to spawn several times. But not always. And BTW, the mode in which you
run the missions makes no difference.
And remember that the higher your rank, the more missions you’ll have to run to unlock the naval opportunity missions. And finally, when the naval missions appear, don’t jump on the first one that pops up. Wait until one that won’t get you wanted (or killed) appears. Once they’ve started spawning, they’ll continue until you ranked up. And some are really easy. So give them time to come up.
Good luck, mate!
