The Final Word on Buying ED on Steam and the 30%

Well, if E:D wanted all of my cash, they should have had a PayPal payment option to purchase the game from the store when I bought it.

i used paypal to pre-order ED back in... August last year i think it was, and have used it for every purchase of skins and add-ons since then - it's the only payment method i use. why was it not available to you?

i also have a second cmdr account that was bought via steam, with a few extra skins and such - but if i'm going to buy a major upgrade e.g. Horizons, i add that to my main FD-native account rather than the steam one

No idea why it wasn't available to me, but it was not at the time of purchase. I think it was March of this year. One of the things I recall clearly about the attempt to purchase from Frontier directly was my distaste for the store setup - it didn't even seem stable. Glad they updated it.

yeah it's better but still far from ideal in layout, and the mechanics are still somewhat flaky - e.g. i bought a skin pack for the Vulture yesterday (Synth? something like that) and the last time i looked it still didn't show up as 'owned' on the store page. it worked fine in-game though.

Pretty good sale on Steam..
Just don't know what would I do with the second account in ED.. In Eve Online I could use the 2nd account to act as a hauler when mining with 1st one.

Anyways, If you have a friend who is interested in the game, I'd say now is the time to try. Even if it is on Steam. Don't know if this is on $ and £ areas as well, I would assume it is.

Yeah its 9.99 BPS at the moment on the FD store ads well. Buy it on the FD store as a gift for someone, get them hooked, let them buy Horizons
