I seriously don't understand the logic of kicking a person from the group and keeping them on the forums. I mean, if they get kicked from the group, it's for a reason and that reason is never good.

I can see the reverse - kicking someone from the forums but allowing them to remain in Mobius gamewise - because some people (namely myself) are pretty much just time bombs on a forum anyway. But if they get kicked from the group it's incredibly unlikely profit will follow allowing said party to remain on the forums.

Unless, of course, these people are being kept around for my personal entertainment. If that's the case, then thanks for thinking of me.

The reasons for not auto banning forum users are manyfold.

First, there is no air tight connection between the accounts. So we can't just guess, even if it is very probable.
Secondly we want to keep a channel open, if the removal was by mistake. Twice that has already helped us and everybody was happy.

The few righfully removed players all did not come to the forums after, this was a first.

And now this episode is also over, as he has been permantly removed from the forums for creating another account in order to fake more drastic reactions to his baiting.

Please keep all responses civil and respectful to everyone!, present or absent.
Otherwise I will have to lock the thread and remove questionable posts with a warning.

Regards
Wolf

My suggestion for the future is to have an email address to use for grievances. In my experience as a moderator, it's often the least messy approach that tends to best protect the community in question from stuff like this.

Just a suggestion though. I ain't here to tell anyone what to do.

That still leaves us with the missing definite connection between an ingame account and the forum account.

And the least messy approach is reporting posts or PM's in question instead of engaging in an open discussion, trying to convince a potential troll to stop trolling.

Your experience as a moderator should tell you that.

As long as the report feature is not spammed or abused, nothing will fall back on the reporter.

It's true that nonengagement is the best course for a moderator to take. But I'm not a moderator here. ;) I AM ONE OF THE PLEBES! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! And so on.

I know I could be a better person. I really would like to be one day. Until that day comes, I'll settle for being a jackass with a heart of gold who says the things people really would like to say, were it not for the concept of civility.

I don't care what people think of me. I'm married.

Hey us Jackasses with hearts of gold have to stick together :p
