This is standard procedure for all trade type ships since 1.4.

It's kind of sad though, as stated, there's no other thing you can do. Don't try to fight the 'diction, don't try to fight the interdictor, don't try to low wake, there is no stealth...there is now only one thing to do...high wake.

Welcome to the club .
Myself I didn't become a member before I had a type 9 and 500+t of imperial slaves on board..

That wasn't a single incident either. But after having myself reduced to a re buy screen even before my 10 second fsd spool down had passed a total of three times (last two with shields ) I parked the giant space coffin and do all my trading in a conda with more guns and shields of than my A rated combat python.

sure it only carries 432 t so yes you will make more money pr load. But I won't loose this unless fall asleep during the interdiction, in fact I have killed PP anacondas who interdicted me while trading.
and after hitting dangerous I could maybe get three runs for each time some gung Ho npc kills me in the t9.
Making half a mil more pr trip times twice does not make out to be more than a 12 mil rebuy, cargo included..
not to mention the conda has a laden jump range of 19 against the T9 12 and it practically keeps up with a python in a fight.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

It's about time that cargo insurance was implemented. It's had a slot reserved on the screens like forever.....

I got cocky in a combat Python a couple weeks back and burned up over 6 million. I decided I could still win when my shields went down, but I went from 40% hull to splat when the conda strafed into my path. Seeing as it was at 30% before I plastered it with a plasma accelerator and accidentally rammed it, I feel safe in assuming that I took the conda with me, but that's only a small consolation.

Yeah, I've given up trading for now, but the high wake jump did save my bacon. However, that trick won't work if you're in a RES and are mass locked by the rings. I made the mistake of taking on a wing of a deadly Python and two master Clippers. That was a bad move. I waited until they were distracted by attacking an Asp, but I was soon sans shields and running for my life (I didn't realize how fast those Clippers are when chasing a Vulture). I was ducking in and out of asteroids using them as blockers. When I got to just one Clipper still tailing me on the sensors, I ducked behind an asteroid and used thrusters to keep it stationed between me and him until my shields regenerated. Then I took him out and hunted down the other two. I think I would have run out of hull if I'd tried running for space.
It's time to give this another go.

That sounds like some tricky piloting skills!!
