The results of Bast

Postby Dr.Acula » Mon Aug 10, 2015 5:34 am

Hey all! Just wanted to throw out a friendly hello and thanks to all the CMDR's who participated in the event at Bast to help lower the amount of rampant piracy in the system. If any of you saw me in the area, I was the CMDR in the viper biding good hunts to all.

The result of that helped me earn enough money to finally buy my Diamonback Scout and outfit it completely maxed out. So far im loving it so much more than my viper thanks to its maneuverability and its hardpoint positioning. The offset of its shields not being as high as my vipers was is okay enough to me since I put a B and C class shield booster on it along with an SCB (debated just 1 A class shield booster and a hull reinforcement package).

Anyways long story short, just wanted to throw out a heartfelt thanks to all the CMDR's that participated and helped me get my dream fighter ship :D

Safe flying CMDR's!

Congratulations on your ship choice! I recently brought myself a Viper, it is a tough little ship I'll admit! I used the CG to put more money in the kitty for my next massive purchase, an Anaconda. Want to use it as an exploration vessel as the can have a good jump range and doesn't feel as claustrophobic as my Asp, given it has a full bridge rather than a greenhouse!

Hope you enjoy your new ship :D

Thank you! Im loving the DBS a LOT right now, and the fact it has better jump range and fuel capacity over my viper is a huge bonus for me.

The viper is definitely a great combat ship, its been my main bounty hunting ship for the better part of the last 6 months i've been playing (with the last 3 months being an on and off hiatus but I wont count those technically :P ) and its handled itself well in most situations i've been in. The only reason I felt a need to switch over to the DBS is becuase I wanted the better maneuverability and hardpoint placement since I was having a hard time dealing with bounties circling me constantly with their crazy tight turn radius.

Good luck on acquiring your conda! Definitely going to be a sight to see.

Hi Dr A :D

I didn't get as much done at Bast as I thought I would, it being the 1st weekend of the EPL (soccer, to the trans-atlantic heathens!) season - and I was doing it in Solo Mode due to there being more hunters than prey in Group on Friday - but I did earn enough to trade in my Cobra for a well-equipped exploration Asp (WITH guns & shields!) at Alioth & head out into the Big Black. 'Til about 3.30 am.

So right now I'm just over 1,000 lights from 'home' & VERY glad I fitted a couple of Heat Sink Launchers!

No idea (yet) where I'm headed for, but for sure NOT the 'tourist hot-spots' ;)

Probably to find & map some totally unknown zones a LONG way from civilisation.

I'm not one for a lot of keyboarding during flight so I might finally give our TS server a try for some voice-chat later.

Hello lion! Yeah there was quite a few people involved during the whole event and we ran out of targets pretty quickly as a result, it was definitely harder to do since the pirates weren't exactly big on the bounty numbers but it was definitely fun.

Congrats on your Asp though! Im hoping to eventually get an explorer or re-outfit my cobra for exploration and start heading out towards the western quadrant of the galaxy (since it seems like most people just shoot for the middle half the time) and circle around.

Who knows, we might bump into eachother out there. ;D Good luck on your adventures!

The trick with the Bast CG and multiple pilots in one instance is to use those unidentified singal sources, those aren't shared with the others in your instance until a wing mate that you are nav locked to jumps into one or vice versa.

INOW the signal sources you see in your nav panel are only visible to you.
but yeah, if you arent in a wing strong enough to start taking on the strong signal sources you will probably be just as well off going into solo and going at it with regular bounty hunting.
