Upgraded last night, aside from a few Nvidia driver issues which was easily cure it went very smoothly indeed. All my installed games and programs work.
I did have to install the latest version of corsair link so that it would run but aside from that, everything just worked.
Installed games are
BF4
BF3
GTA V
Elite Dangerous
Sim City
Diablo 3

Hopefully everyone else has a reasonably smooth ride of it too.

Mine is prepping for upgrade to 10 now. I use a tool (System GoBack Free from EaseUS) to backup the current system, just in case. I hope it will be a smooth upgrade. Wish me luck!

There is a built in option to roll back to win 7 for one month after install I noticed which is handy if you decide it is not for you.

I thought I'd give it a try on my laptop - I doubt it could be worse than 8.1, but they aren't making it easy.

I have a legal, activated, and fully updated Windows 8.1, but it wouldn't display the Win10 update app. I spent one evening doing everything I could find to see why it wasn't working. I confirmed my license was OEM and not volume, and that I had all the required updates, but the Win10 Troubleshooting app said that it was not compatible with my system.

The next night I have up and decided to "refresh" my Windows, which uninstalled all my programs and rolled me back to 8.0 (what shit that is). That took hours, then there were a hundred updates that took still more hours. I managed to start the 8.1 download before going to bed, and got it installing before going to work. When I got back home, there were still several more updates to perform to get to where I started, but after the last the Win10 update app finally showed up. Gee, thanks for that lovely "Windows Experience", Microsoft. :|

Now it's two days later and I assume it's downloading in the background; at least it says it is, but I don't see anyway to check the actual progress. I'd like to charge them about $1000 for my time and aggravation - "free" upgrade my ass.
It's time to give this another go.

I did the upgrade on my main machine last night. I'm up and running in E: D again. In general it went smoothly with only two oddities (so far)
1) My X52 behaves differently in-game now. Previously the scroll wheel would only work by using a profile and mapping the 'up' and 'down' to key presses that the game would then see. Now the scrolling only works by clearing profiles and mapping directly in-game.
2) My custom.binds backup file is not accepted by the game. I found that on start-up I had no controls (maybe related to 1) and so tried copying my backup across but it won't have it. I've recreated my bindings from scratch.

Had the same issue with my custom.binds file. I resolved it by copying it out, naming it something else then putting it back in the folder. Allowed me to select it in the control schemes drop down.

I had no real issues with the x52 profiles. I did have an issue with the MFD and unplugging it locks up the mouse so I have to use keyboard to restart.

Erm... any reason why you didn't just download the installation yourself instead of waiting for the icon to pop up?

I did it and it works perfectly

Yeah - I'm a drooling moron.

The upgrade showed up before I went to bed so I installed it overnight. First impressions are that Win10, and especially its apps, sucks, but it's still better than Win8.1 with its Metro GUI & Charms. I imagine that once I get my programs installed that I'll like it just fine.
It's time to give this another go.

As with every OS by Microsoft I will patiently wait for Service Pack 1 :)

This method seems to work fine for me since XP

Yup, done it and Elite Dangerous is working fine (thankfully). I upgraded from a store bought boxed PC with a pre-installed version of Windows 8.1. I only have the odd problem with the X52 device drivers freezing occasionally mostly when the system first starts up, otherwise it's fine. However, having said all that, I will be downgrading to Windows 7 in the near future since Windows 10 IMHO sucks slightly less lemons than its predecessor(s).
