That's just because you haven't run into awesome people like us, before ;D

And really. Wings helps a ton. I haven't tried out how flying in a wing affects trade dividends, yet...

Probably time to get my sorry ass out there then. I'm still Mostly Harmless, Peddler as I've not put the hours in. Probably be communicating
with text as I'll be using speakers as opposed to headphones but I could use the mic on the PS3 Eye Cam that I'm using for head tracking, Commanders will have to let me know if the background noise interferes as I've heard that is a possibility.

I think part of the problem of not being able to 'get into it' is not the games' fault but more down to me. I wonder if I took more of a role playing attitude it may re-immerse me as I've only played occasionally since release (bought into Premium Beta originally and played almost continuously then) and flew about targeting USS's to get [insert mission objective] and got bored and logged off.

Because I haven't played properly for so long I'm a bit out of it. I have no allegiance and I don't have an imaginary story line going on in my nut, which was something I used to enjoy when playing the original back then on the BBC. That kept me playing for years, even when I was old enough to save for my own computer (Commodore 64) Elite was my top game. I hope age hasn't replaced my capacity for fantasy with cynicism.

Think I need to loosen up and allow my inner geek to shine through ;)

So hopefully see you great Commanders out there.

This is what keeps me going, really. That little private storyline that I may never share with anyone else, but that keeps me thinking about this game way longer than just my in game time. So many little details... the stations we land on...the amount of customization that goes into outfitting your ship, that you worked hard for, so that it really feels like YOUR ship. The sense of ownership is pretty darn cool.

Embrace the geek, I say! EMBRACE HIM!

Yeah Boxcar (ok to shorten your name? I get called Avi by some on these Forums), I definitely get the sense of owning my ship. The inner Geek is surfacing. I'm in Fed space and friendly with Aulin Enterprise but that's just from fetching stuff. I have no alliance or allegiance to any faction. Just surviving and looking for kicks. Maybe as my understanding of Elite lore grows that may change. I played the original (and read 'The Dark Wheel') but missed out on the Frontier First Encounters games as I was busy wondering around in a Punk band in the nineties so I have to catch up on the fiction side of it. I fancy some bounty hunting so I might look for some hot spots in a couple of hours when I will have some gaming time after I've sorted the flat after central heating has been installed Aaagh!

So you or any Commanders here fancy Winging it with me then I'm up for it.

I'm up for it, I'm just not ready to leave my current system yet.

It has an amazing RES zone, almost exclusively Pythons, Condas, Clippers and Dropships with a few Vipers, Adders and Cobras inbetween plus one of the stations has a blackmarket :D (Hint: Big ships tend to drop craploads of cargo)

Yeah thanks to you and PulsarShark for the meet. That was my first Wing. At least now I know what needs practicing especially speed distance timing on approach to nav in rings.

I wouldn't mind winging with you guys sometime soon. I don't know who's still around, but Red gets tired of trading every now and again.

Hunting may be a bit less profitable, but it's a heckofa lot more fun.
