I'll probably lock them to forward fire only and see how they compare. I don't like weapons that get confused by chaff or ECM.

Btw, in my Viper and Asp, I've never had a cabin heating problem no matter how many lasers I've used or how much I've used them. With 4 pips to weapons, they would fire until they overheat or run out of energy, then the beams would do slow pulses as they recovered. That's with A rated components.

Was that with the 500k gimbal beams? They cause overheating for me in A rated Asp if used for too long.

Actually, it was fixed beams. I've tried the gimbaled versions, but probably not for very long. I think I'll try the gimbaled beams and overuse them to see what happens. But I don't see why having a weaker weapon on gimbals would cause a cabin heating problem. This may be something that needs to be ticketed.

Normally, I used fixed beams at long distances (2km) to take down shields. I've only extensively used gimbaled weapons for up close work with multi cannons. I'm hoping that with A rated beams I can use those for the hull as well as the shields. But then maybe A rated projectile weapons will be too fun to pass up. ;)
It's time to give this another go.
