Hello!

Postby tristancliffe » Mon Jan 26, 2015 7:35 pm

Hi,
I'm joining up to this wonderful group. Heard many good things about it, and hoping that I can return from Solo without the hassles of griefing, kill exploits and immaturity that is standard in online games and becoming a problem in Open.

I'm mostly a trader at the moment, but I have desires to bounty hunt more, and maybe go exploring far away one day. I do quite like the thrill of interdictions and being pirated, I think the lack of law makes it too viable for wannabe pirates - in real life, pirating ships is a high risk proposition that mostly fails, yet in Elite it's easy, usually unpunished etc (although the FSD cooldown does make escape straightforward in most cases).

So you'll usually see me flying around happily between systems with a load of something-or-other. I'm interspersing my activities at the moment with permit-gaining. Got Achenar yesterday, and might push on for a few more. I don't have much interest in the whole "Empire is great, down with the Feds!" role playing, so I want to be friendly with everyone really.

In real life, I'm a 33 year old Mechanical Engineer living near Norwich, UK. My day job is the restoration of classic, pre-1976 Lancia cars, but I also run a small club-level motorsport Formula 3 racing team, and I ALSO do professional seat fittings for established racing drivers as well - off to LeMans tomorrow for a GP2 team.
I use an X55 stick and throttle, and I would like a consumer version of the Rift when they are available - they sound amazing, but I've never tried one.

That's all folks. See you amongst the stars.
