Zakk reporting in. I guess you could call me a veteran, played Elite on the C64 in the 80ies already - I will still deny being older than 30, though

On the PC, I've got around 1,000 hours clocked by now. Just returned from a longer exploration trip beyond Sgr *A. I had thought about going all the way to Beagle Point, but shortly after passing The Middle, I bought an Oculus Rift, and decided it was time to return to the bubble.
Reducing my hull integrity to some 20% by crashing into a mountain while pursuing the ultimately stupid idea of going canyon racing in an AspX some 20,000 LY away from the next Lakon workshop helped with the decision.
So now I'm back at Jameson Memorial, looking for things to do. There's been a couple of things I've never done in ED, but always wanted to try them. Joining Mobius was one of them.
Among the others are:
Giving Powerplay a shot. Does Aisling still have those neat prismatic shield generators on stock, or have they all been used as dowry in her recent marriage? (How did that go at all? Gotta catch up with things. You're just away from populated space for a couple of months, and some dork steals your princess. Tsk.)
Ranking up with Empire and Federation. Never really bothered to, so I am barely above peasant status with both of them.
Visit Guardian sites. I still haven't seen a single one of them yet.
And maybe say hi to the Thargoids. Though I'm not overly interested in them, to be perfectly honest.
Oh yeah, and try out various ships, of course. VR makes a helluva difference in terms of cockpit immersion. The first thing I did when I returned from exploration was dusting off my trusted old Python (she's called Monty... see what I did there?

Having only really flown 3 ships in the game so far (Cobra, AspX, Python), I definitely need to try out more. The first ones on the list are Krait, FdL and Type-10. Maybe I'll even give the Conda another try - bought one once, but didn't like it. Maybe it'll be better in VR.
Oh yeah, and Clipper and Cutter, of course, once I got the respective ranks.
Damn it, 1,000 hours on record and still so much to do. To think that people call ED boring...

Anyway, enough talk (who said "too much already"?

Glad to be on board, see you out there, commanders o7
