Run Silent Key Combo

Accidentally pressed the run silent (del)key during an engagement a big Oops! To prevent myself from repeating it decided to assign a key combo AlT+Del (did not work) tried CTRL+del same result. Control panel appears to accepted it but not working in game. What am I doing wrong?

i use Shift key as combo key, Shift+c to drop cargo or shift S for silence.

Maybe you are not pressing them int he order? Quickly Shift followed by S or whatever you are using

Think it also might be hinky as to what keys goes with other keys.
And ctrl or alt-Del might be a bit of special case...

Personally I haven't even bound silent running at all, you can toggle it yourself if you want to in the right panel functions tab.

Alternatively, just disable it unless you're going to smuggle in the near future. Otherwise, you'd likely never use Run Silent,Run Deep.

Yeah, but does it really do anything for smuggling ?
The npc's where pretty much imune to it for as long as I can tell, so it turned more into a pvp technique than anything.

With 2.1, I've noticed that NPC's tend to "respect" your silent running (i.e. not scanning you as soon as you come into range of them) but it doesn't give you total immunity from scans. You will eventually get checked out and scanned if you hang around within their proximity while in silent running, so its probably best to engage silent running before you get in range, then promptly get in/out of where you need to go.
