I second (or third or whatever) the Thrustmaster T-Flight. It's what I use, and I'm pretty happy. $40 or less. It has a pretty long cable that connects the throttle to the joystick, so I can put throttle left of keyboard and joystick on the right. Works for me!

I'd think it'd be confusing switching between an X55 and a different hotas, and messing with different config files. Not only the different button placements, but different performance curves as well. Is the X55 really that much bulkier? Anyway, just my 2-cents. ;)
It's time to give this another go.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

I almost did this just a couple of years ago, no joke.

Unfortunately I was working in some very RV-unfriendly US states. The land of the not-so-free New England.

For the long nights that an IT guy has to wait in the office for...something to finsh or for the lonely nights at a hotel room while on business trip.

I know that I already broke one, I know it is crap quality but it is portable and as you can see in the picture, when broken in two pieces it can fit in my backpack. Madcatz Cyborg FLY 5

I so much wanted this to be a good stick when I got it. It had advantages, but the quality is soooooo lacking.

In general Saitek quality is pretty bad.
The frist FLY 5 died in two days after assembilig disassembing it twice and not even using it to play
The X52 developed some squeeking and was packed
My current X52 Pro held till the trading grind I am currently in before the landing gear button starting to show signs of fatigue.

As I want the twist to yaw I have yet to find a good solution. Will wait for the X 56 before replacing the X 52 and hopefullt the second FLY 5 will not die during a business trip...

After 9 months and numerous trips, my Saitek X55 is still holding up. At most I'm starting to lose some variance towards the right in the thumb nipple stick, but I'm going to try to recalibrate it for improved results. Otherwise the stick and throttle remain solid for me.
