No crashes during my short stint in a compromised Nav point last night...
I did spot in the log that I've also been getting some failures in Logitech setpoint software (I have wireless mouse and keyboard from them) and a thread on nVidia's website implies that there could be a link. Another thing to try if needed.

No further crashes in the hour or so I got in the game last night. Fingers crossed.

Just to add - I don't know if everyone is aware of the 'Reliability Monitor' app in Windows control panel which effectively takes a view across your event log and presents your errors in a more digestible way. Very handy.

Well, I've thrown the towel in. I just printed out the return form for Amazon.

I'll go for a different manufacturers card and see how I get on with that. In the meantime it will be back to playing in lower quality but at least I won't have the screen go blank while flying through the docking slot!
