Head Tracking

Postby MrGuarnere » Fri Oct 30, 2015 12:47 pm

Just placed my order for the ED Tracker Pro (http://www.edtracker.org.uk/index.php/s ... racker-pro)

Hope it will work as well as I've seen it on YouTube. Will let you guys know how I get on. At quarter of the price of TrackIR its worth giving it a go :)

I have one and it works well. Also got the early non-mag version on a shelf that I made from the bits, which was a revelation when I first tried it.
I don't tend to use the headtracking that much at the moment but I think it will come back big time when driving on planet surfaces.....

How can you have a head tracking device and not use it, De Carabas?! I think I might stop playing if my TrackIR didn’t work anymore.

I agree, but I did take a break and used speakers on extended exploration trips. It made it easier to multitask (aka "watch the telly"), which you certainly don't want to do in combat. ;)
It's time to give this another go.

Mainly due to paranoia. Headset on means I can't hear the kids creeping up on me or the subtle disapproval from my wife at how long I'm on the PC. By the time I hear it with headphones on I find it's unrecoverable..... :D

A little duct tape and it is solved. Just wrap it.

Or if your bald like me, get some velcro with one side sticky tape. Stick one part to your head, the other to the RD Tracker. Easily removable, and will also keep your winter wool hat from flying off in the wind.

And if anyone asks, that's were you wife attaches the solar panel to get you all charged up :)

You could always have a variety of hats to attach it to, a Pith Helmet when exploring, Biggles Flying Helmet for combat, Hard Hat for mining, Baker Boy Hat for trading.

I'm sure you wife would have no issue with that.

LOL or rather LIQ (Laugh Inside Quietly so no one hears I'm having fun).

Tried hats. Didn't like it. Fussy git.

I will be looking forward to your future report on the ED Tracker Pro. I purchased the TrackIr5 Pro and couldn't be happier with it.

However, I have had a few friends show interest in the TrackIr until I tell them what it costs. It would be nice to have one to recommend that doesn't break the bank to buy it.
