Gaming/Office chair with HOTAS mounts - Now with added DIY!

Postby smartroad » Sun Oct 25, 2015 3:21 pm

Does anyone know if such a thing exists? Basically I want an office type chair that has the ability to take a HOTAS. Seen a few racing car but they are static I need it to function as an office chair when not gaming.

Just wondering if anyone knows of one?

Cheers for the link :)

I have decided to go my own DIY route. My current chair doesn't fit under my desk due to its unnecessarily big arms. They are needed to hold the back rest on. So I am taking them off, replacing them with some MDF equivalents that also allow me to slide in a 'shelf' to hold my HOTAS and my custom keypad, using some 3D printed components as brackets. The shelf is removable (otherwise I couldn't get out of the chair unless I was some sort of contortionist!) and should allow my chair to fit under the desk as well :D

Printer has started its first print, about 10hours for this one and another 6 for the second print.

Tomorrow I will be cutting out the MDF and hopefully should have it together by tomorrow eve :)

I use two fold away tables at the side of my chair for my x52 keyboard slap bang in front - nice relaxed comfy position, have been known to fall asleep perusing the bulletin board before now tho

hmmm, tempting to do this...ONLY after i get new furniture lol.....as it is i barely have any room on my desk for my laptop plus all the damn cables running to and fro (headset, adjustable cooling pad, mmo gaming mouse (LOVE the extra buttons for everything, hdmi cable for my 2nd monitor to the left of my laptop on a tiny curved piece of furniture lol, xbox 360 controller adaptor, and finally my x52 pro :|)and then my portable speak just behind my laptop setup lol

Isn't that a little awkward to get in and out of? Or are you channeling your inner Bo Duke of Dukes of Hazzard fame? :)

Nice work. I have been thinking more and more about how I want to do mine, and I am formulating a plan. Just need to get off my arse and do it.
