Well, got a major update on my rig.

New screen arrived today, I have still kept two of my old 24" screens but for now I tilted them into portrait mode and use them for browsing and TS etc

I am considering taking my old middle screen and hook it up above my new desk screen on the wall mount and use it for my currently unused wii u

It's a 34" 3440*1440 and it costs about as much as my entire PC :S

I a figured I could treat myself, my old trippel screen setup was about the cheapest screens I could get 6-7 years ago, and they where really starting to show their age, and from experience I would rather have one big one than 3 seperate screens, no screen will ever age the same and I have spent hours fiddling in their menu trying to even get close to each other but no love.
So this is to replace three 24" 1080p's but I can always still run them as tertiaries until they implode in a haze of blue smoke:S

I honestly consider curved screens to be an abomination, but I guess it's ok when you sit close enough in the sweet spot to a large one, if I move to the side of the screen I immediately go "Weuugh".

Ghosting is a little more pronounced than I would like but nothing game breaking, so for now I guess I'm keeping it, I ordered it from a store I know doesn't quibble about their return policy, so very little risk ordering online here.

I am also getting ok frame rates but that might require dropping supersampling quite a bit (maybe even less than 1x), I was thinking of getting a new GPU as well when the next gen comes out but not before.

Well I'm calling fudge

In beta 4 I can only get decent fps if I drop supersampling from 1x to like 0.65x.. and that looks like absolute crap. From what I gather its like having the game render at almost half the specified resolution and it looks like I put on the wrong glasses , actually worse than that...

Going into space I get 55-60 at 1x sample so not entirely hopeless, but it's a bit much to hope for further optimization , beta 1 I was at 20fps in 1080p, in beta 4 I could pretty much run higher settings and get 55-60 in 1080p.
I'm guessing I am really hitting the ram limit on my 2gb card at this Res on planets.

So choices, suck it up, wait for pascal hopefully to ship second quarter 2016, or just buy a new gpu now, that would be the third gpu i have bought in less than 15 months , and the 980 costs as much as the freaking screen itself..

Or be monetary sane and send the screen back..

Being carefull is never much fun.

And december is a half tax month so ordered a 6Gb 980 TI...

Checked with gpu-z and it seems its not bottlenecking in vram, but the 960 just isn't keeping up, although I was seeing no less than 1950MB vram out of 2GB total is pretty much fully utilized.
