Dual-Boxing / Multi-boxing on the same PC

Postby Panzertard » Sat Aug 29, 2015 12:31 am

Just wanted to let you know that I've done some test, and it works.
You can run two accounts on the same PC at the same time, in two Windows.

Why you need to do this? Well, in my case I have some goods I need to transfer (UA's) to store for later use.
Any other good reason to do this? Not sure.

Not sure if you want to leave this topic up. It is closely related to an exploit that has in the past gotten people banned.

In that case, it's what you do with your dual-boxing that matters.
It's not an exploit to own and use two accounts.

As for making duplicates, making items stolen for delivering it on a mission and like - yes, thats quite surely not within the intention of the designers.
Thats something I would advice against doing.

You are right, it is just that like most posts of this nature I have tried to warn people because in the past Frontier has removed such posts from their forums and taken action against the OP. The method you listed is close to or I should say part of the one used to log in from the same account in 2 different windows.

In the past those even reporting this bug, exploit, have been banned just because they tested it before processing the report.

Appreciate your input on the matter. Thanks.
I do understand they can be a bit paranoid of it. Altough I have a few fair use scenarios if FD wish to discuss it.
Altough it's rare to have them online at the same time, it does happen.

Here's a few samples, why I use two accounts:
- While travelling out in the void, it's nice to be able to do some bounty hounting, just for the fun. One is out exploring, the other is home making money.
- Owning a UA, it's bad to bring it out on a long trip in the galaxy. Leaving it home with the Mrs.
- One character can churn the wheels of PP, while the other doesn't have to.
- One character can be a pirate, while the other stays clean.

Anyway, there we go, I'm already using it for the things as described above.
I can't see that it's in breaking the intent nor the Eula FD set up for the game.

It's what you choose to do again which matters.
Same thing as in EVE or other games. Explotation is bad, but it's based on your actions.

StaticRadion, again, I do appreciate your dialog on the matter :)

No problem, I give everyone the benefit of the doubt and have understood where you were coming from since your first post, but I wanted you to be aware and ready if they go crazy over your post.
