Game doesn't save settings

I've noticed that the game never remembers my gender setting or my orbit-lines display setting. Each time I log in, my character is set to female, and orbit lines are turned on.

I tried switching it to male/off and saving to menu, tried resetting the game alltogether but it always goes back to female/on

is there a config file i can set that manually somewhere?

OK, so finally I managed to fix this!

If anyone else is having similar issues do this:

1. Go to C:\Users\{yourUsername}\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options and delete the "Player" folder
2. Open ED folder and start the game by double-clicking the "Elevate.exe" file
3. Setup your game the way you like (map preferences, navigation settings, route plotting options, gender... whatnot)
4. Save and exit game, and start it as you do normally.

That's it \o/

Tried that, it hasn't fixed it.
I do remember the old issue, but I don't think the symptoms were quite the same.

This topic is very old, but I think some options are currently bugged and cannot be resolved without a patch. One of things are settings for your turrets. No matter what you chose - they will always reset on low/hi-wake to "Fire at will"

Thats actually a new one with 2.1.
if not introduced by one of the patches to patch bugs in 2.1...
