Collecting Resources with SRV

KK, I am on Mercury and thought it was about time I tried my hand at resource collecting with the SRV. Proplem is, I have no idea how. I have my SRV; what do I do next? Does my SRV need to be equipped with anything extra?

Watch the scanner. You'll see horizontal thick bars that go all the way across the radar screen which get smaller and stronger the closer you get to the object. If the object on the radar is showing at the top of the radar screen, it's loot. If it's at the bottom of the radar screen, it's a rock that you have to shoot and collect the minerals.

Check your control mappings, the SRV has it's own set of mappings in the settings menu under controls.

When you find a thing, for example an outcrop, target it and shoot it, deploy the cargo scoop on the SRV, target the thing you want to pick up and drive over it.

You are not limited to the number of materials you collect (up to the 600 you can have), but you can only carry two cargo canisters.
