System modules

Postby Akulla » Wed Nov 19, 2014 1:50 pm

I'm wondering if someone could clarify something for me, I've seen different answers to my question while digging around on the internet.

On the right panel under modules you can select a number for power assigned to your modules, weapons ect.

I've read that by assigning a item a number 1-3 or 1-4 in some cases, not sure why, this dictates that when you ship is damaged those modules are turned off first to conserve power, But I haven't seen in what order this should happen, if its a (1) does it get turned off first?

Other way around I think......The higher the number the first to get turned off..

I'd like this cleared up too. On the ED forums there was mention of it changing the other way round (from which numerical order to which, I can't remember) after a certain Beta release (again I can't remember).

Either way it seemed a bit confusing.

The smaller the number, the higher the priority. So modules set to 1 won't be turned off.

So like, number one top of the list therefore takes priority over modules that have been selected with a number higher than 1. Right?

Would that help with weapons power consumption if I made, say, Life Support and maybe Shields '1' and, for example, Fuel Tanks (if that module exists) to the highest number for combat?

I think I'll take a look at this later and see what happens when I stick some more power hungry lasers on my Viper.

Yeah, that's the idea. Set things like your cargo hatch lower priority (higher number) so it is the first thing to get turned off.

Makes sense. I'll try it out later. Cheers.

It makes no difference since Friday as nothing can go offline now.
