Screen freezes in RES, sound continues

Currently, I am experiencing a strange behavious: Now and then, when joining the fight in a HiRes against a Wanted ship, the screen freezes -- BUT the sound continues (and is not repeating/hangup). Controls are not responding.
I always emergency-logged as quickly as possible, since I don't know whether my ship actually continues to fly. Win10.

Anyone experiencing the same lately?

We get that just before a crash to desktop happens. Does not have to be in a RES. Can Happen anywhere.

Sometimes it doesn’t lead to a crash, here. It just freezes and I have to force-quit the client. Then only the crash reporter pops up.

AMD GPU? I've heard there are problems with AMD and ED which I think is Driver related and not to do with the game per se.

I get the occasional freeze myself, every time I have to kill the client when it happens. Doesn't matter where I am, happens randomly.

Intel CPU, i7. 750Ti GPU. And yes, manual quit required, no auto-crash; even no crash reporter shows up ... well, seems we just have to live with it.

Sounds like the crash I experience at times.
Now mostly when fuel scooping...

I get a driver crash, come back to desktop but elite still has focus, it's just not rendering. From the sounds my ship is still responding. But if I slow and drop out of cruise it won't instance so I have to force quit.

I can also just quit the game via menu by pressing the right buttons but yeah this is not fun..

This is my typical problem, either that or a complete freeze with sound too. I usually have to reset the computer as I can't get task manager to pop up. I have Nvidia cards. I'm also worried about the ship continuing to fly, maybe into an asteroid or something.

I don’t think it’s video related, because sometimes the game freezes at the same exact time for Victoria and I, and we’re not using the same GPU.

Exactly. Or kissing the Big Master Conda I just started to attack at full throttle ... in the middle of the asteroid field.

I tend to doubt it, though. Otherwise I should have flown into something solid at least one time already.
