Free head lock in stations.

Postby Vikinger » Fri Oct 10, 2014 9:33 am

This is a new feature with Beta2.
It did not work on previous builds as the normal free head look was tied to the controls that was used when you deployed landing gear.

In normal flight I have a key that toogle my free headlock so I can use the Hat switch control on my stick to look around.
But when landing gear is down it did not work.
Instead when landed, if I press the toggle key I can look around with my mouse instead of the hat switches.

Its quite cool to just hang around a landing pad and se other space ships come in and out or get blown to pieces :D

Not many know about this new feature so I thought I would share it.

Actually it was working before at some point (Alpha?) and then was broken or removed. I remember sitting there and marvelling at the sation interiors at the very beginning. Good to know it has been fixed.

I kind of wish you could turn it off when you're in the station menus though. I use TrackIR emulated by OpenTrack with an EDTracker and it's bloody distracting in the background whenever you turn your head to look at the different bits of the screen. :-)
