new skins for NPC's?

new skins for NPC's?
am I imagining it or have FDev given the NPC's some new, never seen before skins? its either that a funky reflection off the star near the nav beacons i've been hunting at. I've not been able to capture a screen shot of one yet as i'm usually too busy trying to kill it at the time but i'll try and get one to post.

Since gamma at least, different factions have had some funky skins, at least the pirates have. I managed to defeat an Imperial Clipper with a fantastic white with red stripes design today, even though there are no player-available skins for that ship. Keep looking out for the most eye-catching ones, maybe one day FD will let us wear them.
