But I wish to have weapons, that was the whole point of getting the Asp

The only FSD available at this station is as follows:

A2, A3, B2, B3, C2, C3, D2, D3, E2, E3

Buy back the 5E if you can.
Then go find a station to hat sells the 5a.

Fsd is possible the one module where say the 5e is much better then a 4a.
If you can't get the 5e back. Downgrade everything to D.
Smallest possible everything to lighten the load.
If that won't let you leave the system sell the asp and buy it som place else.

When I first tried the gunship I had to strip off everything and even downgrade the fuel tank just to get out of the system ;)

Hey I'm Thor -
People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

What I've had to do for the moment is take the Asp back to default equipment and then I'll fly to a system that has the 5A FSD and 4D power plant :)

I've just upgraded from a cobra to an Asp ex ( Left me with under 5 million credits lol)
If you are still in the bubble still searching for the right parts for your ASP may I suggest you do this rares run
viewtopic.php?t=2394
The reason being you earn a fast million or two and you will visit the stations selling what you'll want for your Asp.
I realize you may be sick of trading but getting yourself set up how you like and earning those needed credits is doable

Im personally using this route to get some credits before I have enough to re fit and start exploring again.

If you have already left then ignore me.

Good luck out there and watch out for the space madness kicking in :) :)

I followed your set up as close as I could and it made my power consumption worse: 161%

I've changed to:

Power Plant 3A
FSD 3E (5A not available)

I don't understand why I can't plot a route to even the nearest star. I'm stuck in my current system.

Hi Myrm

I should have said 4D power plant like in the linked build. Anyway, it shows only 104.4% power. Notice that the AFMU and planetary vehicle hangar are powered off - you only need to turn them on when you need them (not in super cruise and not with hard points deployed). I don't know where you got that 161% power figure from. :o

And as Bob says, you must have a 5A FSD for exploration. :!:
It's time to give this another go.

So, the proplem I am having:

1) My power consumption is at 124%, though nothing seems to be offline

2) I cannot jump even to the nearest system due to mass

Help! What can I do to increase my jump capability from zero to something decent.

Thank you. :)

So basically both your PP and your FSD are too small,

The power consumption is for when weapons are deployed, the small PP means as soon as you deploy weapons everything is going to shut down, even with power management you are not going to get around this.

A 3A FSD is way too small for an ASP, the 3A has an optimal weight of 150T, the hull alone on an ASP weighs 280.

On the FSD go back to the original 5E if you can, that will instantly add 10ly to your jump range, then get yourself to a better outfitter and upgrade your PP and FSD.

EDIT: Ninja'd

I seriously recommend that you try http://coriolis.io/ and play around with the builds.

KK

I now have a 5A FSD.

Available to me is the following Power Plant:

B2, A2, A4, B5, A5

I currently have installed a E5

Should I still go for the D4?

Actually, it looks like a 3A is and even better choice - more power, better rating, and less weight.

Note, if you want to be taking this into real combat, then you will want to upgrade PP, Dist, & Shields.
It's time to give this another go.

It's 35%, but the only thing I've added from the default is the FSD. I'm now off to a station to load up on the rest.
