Federal Navy progression missions.

Hi, i don't know much about the game mechanics, what's under the hood, and i'm having trouble getting more naval progression missions.

I am Allied with Fed and Allied with the owners of the stations that i visit for BB missions but since ranking up to Cadet i am being offered no more missions, i have tried over 20 different systems, waited for the BB missions to changed, forced a reinstance but no joy.

Do i have to keep on grinding, even though i'm allied with major and minor ?

p.s. Where do people find out about game mechanics, the manual isn't up to much ?

Are you sure you're only taking missions issued by the fed faction in those systems. Once you start getting system permits it will get quite a bit more annoying, with issued permits sitting in the unobtainable mission section for ages.

You do have to keep doing the missions. It's not a matter of waiting for the list to refresh to see the one you want. It can be 20-30 missions of different types needed to get it to tick over and offer the next progression.

Having said that it can also be 2-3

That's sooo fecking true.......

One of my biggest piss offs is the bloody Hors permit that keeps reappearing...........

Got it sodding months ago......

Been there twice now and stayed around for a while...It disappears and then reappears later.....

Keep grinding, pick one minor faction aligned to the Feds and only do missions for them, if there are no current missions for that faction do some trading or something. Don't take missions for the other factions in that system. If you are bounty hunting don't kill ships of your chosen faction, even if the money is tempting.

I followed this approach and got a rank up mission to Lt. Commander after just a couple of days.

The rank up missions are on a random generator that clicks in when you get enough rep increase, so they may not appear straight away.
