CZ's, how do they work?

So I hopped into my first CZ yesterday (High Intensity) saw that the Empire was one of the factions and hopped on their side. I destroyed a couple ships, but didn't really notice any change? Does the ship population go down or are they constantly spawning in? Do we shoot ships until we either win or lose? I just couldn't quite get what the point was.

If you started in a CZ at noon and played 24 hours straight, you would see they don't stop unless the conflict or community goal is ended or completed.

ok good, thanks Loriath Does participating in a CZ garner an increase in reputation with the faction you choose to fight for or do you have to participate in the CG as well?

It, if they are one of the factions that you can choose. CZ's don't have to be tied to a CG either.

And I am not sure, but let's say you are fighting for an Imperial faction, You can turn in the combat bonds to another imperial station and get credit for it. You can't do that for a CG. You have to turn in at a specific location ( the station where you joined the CG)

Your rep gets a boost when you do the community goals. The better you do, the better the rep you gain. If you take part on the wrong side, you can damage your rep as well.

Sweet! Thanks Loriath! I'll need to check out those combat bonds, I don't think I got any last night but I can't remember if I docked at an Imperial station or not
