75 is plenty for a kitted out Vulture. Mine was 22mil.

I personally also have an Anaconda (and a Python), though I find the Vulture a whole lot more fun for combat.

:) It is very fun! I went to the CZ and did OK. Got chased out early on my fisrt try with 5-6 ships attacking me, I escaped with 58% Hull. After that I kept mostly attacking enemy ships that were already outnumbered, and this gave me a lot more durability in there.

The influence levels were still the same last night , 20.6 % for the Order and 8.6% for Crimsom. The CZ instances seem to be scaling the opposition to the ship you're driving , I've never seen the killer Cutters other commanders in high powered ships have been bumping into. But I have noticed that since I've been taking my Viper4 into the CZ instead of my Sidey the ships I've been fighting have changed from Eagles to Cobras and similar sized vessels.

The occasional Python has always been there and once I saw a Clipper. Never winged yet with a really high powered ship so that also could be a factor. So I suspect that a wing of Sideys , Adders and Eagles will experience an instance scaled to their firepower and be chased out of that instance by killer Cobras.

Just a guess :)

My personal method for CZ is to work the dges. Boost off ~20km when entering, then deploy hardpoints, pick the faction, and head back towards the CZ and target the first hostile you see. You'll rarely have more than one hostile within your combat sphere, but several within sensor range, so you have a steady supply of targets, without them all shooting at you at once.

@Tifu I went in 4 CZ instances, and saw 1 Cutter, it flew right at me and dropped my shields so I had to run. I was flying a Vulture.

@ Masark Nice! I'll try that next time. One by one!

Winging up will be advantageous, I normally sit in the TeamSpeak in the EXIOCE WAR ROOM channel that was created temporarily for this combat instance, but my play hours have been limited due to real world interference.

I've given my Fer De Lance a full combat only fitting.

Essentially no need for kill scanners, landing SRV, fuel scoops etc..

Just max out on Shield Boosters, Hull Reinforcements, 1 x Class 3 Beam for shield stripping, 4 x Multi-cannons for hull destruction.
I don't even have Shield Cell Banks. I can fly in, 4 pips to shields, 2 pips to weapons and tank it.

I boost/run/Brave Sir Robin away and lick my wounds and recharge shields. The bad guys are not going anywhere in a hurry.

Also, having a store of materials that were SRV harvested really help in re-arming my small calibre multi-cannon ammo in-field and no requirement to fly back to HQ. When not in combat, I fit a SRV bay and trundle around a planet getting materials for ammo, (sulphur, nickel and iron)
I have enough onboard for 8 full reloads for 4 guns each.

Coupled with Masark's tactic, this works for me and I've stayed in the CZ for far longer than normal.

Looks like the Cutter is the BGS's way of evening the odds to prevent an NPC faction from crumbling too quickly. I'm considering getting the Viper mk3 for CZ's, bounty hunting and raiding systems hostile to my power play faction.

That will complete my fleet for now with a Sidey for traveling between hangars and for scouting missions, the Viper4 for trade /Powerplay /planetary exploration and a dedicated fighter in the Viper3.

I am in big fat dragging her ass around Vette. After killing the first one had to pop SCBs to get at least 1,5 rings of shield strength.
Brought down shields on the 2nd cutter and moved in for the kill when it turned around and rammed me to it's death..

This ramming has become too often

The Vette is much more sturdy than I would have thought. I won't try the same in my FDL ;)
Yes, ramming is so often that one can rely on it. At least when you know that this is the preferred flying pattern you can avoid it - if your ship is agile enough. A Torero comes to mind.

Agreed...what is it with the ramming thing..? Even at starports the system authority vessels have a tendancy to scan you whilst ramming you.. :(

I feel a "Dear FD" moment coming..
