Don't trust anything you read on GalNet - effing reporters.
It's time to give this another go.

It's the other way around. ILFE (Alliance) was the controlling faction since the games launch. But A bunch of pirates from The CODE (open) decided to try and flip the system and succeeded. They were backing Reynhardt who are now just in control.

The devs said that the system wont change allegiance in the galaxy map until the next update/patch. Only the local system data is dynamic.

Here's the pirates thread from reddit. http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/ ... _2_we_won/

That was the first time that I had been in a wing and it was definitely more fun than just flying around a RES alone. The ARF also looks like a really interesting group; is there any room for a former Federation CMDR who's not liking the direction the Federation is taking?

Hi Worley, welcome to the group. The Federation is losing it's way and it looks like you are finding yours.

You should note that our founder has not been seen or heard from in a while, and I repeat that I hope is doing okay. In the meantime, I'm sure he would be pissed off about what's happening in Leesti and would support actions there. I'm out exploring, but I'm going to head back into the area for the weekend to see what I can do. I just don't know whether I should take a trader (T9), a fighter (Vulture), or a well armed Asp with good cargo space.
It's time to give this another go.

The last time I spoke to Beast was in game. He told me that there was a fair chance he was going to get called up for duty again any time. I believe he is in the Finnish Air Force. Hopefully it's nothing more serious than lack of opportunity to play the game.

Go for the Vulture it is really fun ship, you can fly circles around just about everything except for the Eagle, and those large hardpoints pack a massive punch.

Oh yeah, I've had a Vulture for a couple of weeks and it's my favorite combat ship. I was just wondering what would be best to help flip the system. I ended up taking the Asp with 60T cargo space so I could run missions. If conflict zones show up, I may head back and get the Vulture.

I did six quick missions for ILFE before quitting for the night. It was 23% to 22% against ILFE.
It's time to give this another go.

I am not sure of the extent to which trading or combat missions differ in their effect on the fortunes of a faction. I have been focusing on combat as I am sure the my Cobra is more effective a fighter than it is a trader.

Any thoughts on that?

Also I am wondering about the factions and bounties of those I kill. When I scan a wanted cmdr I always thought that the faction shown was who they are aligned to rather than who had put a bounty on them. But then why is it that my rep can rise with a faction when I have killed 20 cmdrs aligned to them? Broken game or me being a bit stupid and not understanding?

Anyway guys, I am away at our caravan but will be returning later today so will hopefully tean up with some of you from about 8pm UK time.

Oh another thought guys. As we now have this alliance section of the forum, maybe we should keep this thread for general ARF discussion and start a new thread for each mission we engage in. Hopefully that will make things easier to follow and also give more exposure to the ARF.
