I think you can, with drive slaving or something, no? Needs testing, happy to oblige whenever I see any of you out there!
Yup, we tried it weeks ago with moderate success. When I joined the wing yesterday I noticed you weren't using it so when we changed RES sites there was a bit of guessing involved. I suggest that we do play with the wingman nav-lock feature and get it figured out.
IIRC, this is what happened last time. We had a wing leader and 2 wingmen. The wingmen nav-locked onto the wing leader. When the wing leader would enter SC, the wingmen would follow, assuming they were close enough - so keep up & stay close. The problem we had was that if a wingman got interdicted, the others wouldn't exit SC with him and we had a hard time finding him. Also, if you didn't stay close in SC, you might not follow the wing leader out of SC, or you'd have to search for the wake & target it to join the wing in local space.
***EDIT** maybe the "leader" doesn't need to be out front. Maybe if we are all just close enough the nav-lock will work. Something to test. ***
I suggest that we try it again but see if everyone can nav-lock everybody else. That way anybody can take the lead & the others will follow. For example, if you are physically ahead of the other players in local space, it makes sense for you to lead to the next location - or at least lead the way into SC. And hopefully, if anybody gets interdicted, we will all be pulled out of SC together. That's the way wings should work!
Also, if we are all nav-locked to each other, and in SC one of us spots something interesting, or gets to the new site first, they can lead the rest out of SC into local space. Anyway, that's some stuff to experiment with.
