I didnt get to d any wing stuff tonight either but prepatch low intensity warzones were MUCH easier than post patch low intensity warzones. You would think 4x multicannons on an asp would still strip down a hull pretty quickly but NO. Class 2 beams also felt like they took longer to strip shields even with continuous burst. Basically it means entering a warzone solo is asking for an insurance claim at least in a shiny new asp.... Granted I didnt go in with shield cells or upgraded armor but before the patch my cobra melted shields and hulls and took damage far less. I did not really notice the difference in maneuverability in the asp over the cobra...if anything it was easier to stay with vipers and eagles than in a cobra. So not sure what I will do next. I could do a few rares runs and kit out a viper or cobra just for combat as long as I plan to stay in the alioth, wolf 406 region I guess. Any suggestions?

I did quite well with my new viper earlier today. I haven't tried wings yet. I did find a headset that might work for voice chat. Only problem is that there seems to be a press to mute button rather than press to chat. I have 3 puppies and an ancient dog, a wife and a lot of distractions in the house I'd rather not share as background noise lol.

I'm happy to help anyone that needs it and deserves it. I've been a little annoyed with the Alliance Combine because they seem to do a lot of shady stuff but earlier today we did seem to be making some leeway and the debriefing and reputation info seems to be working now. Last I looked we were winning 42/38%. I have no clue what difference is required to stabilize a system in your favor.

I didn't try wings properly yet either. Was tempted but I've not had much guaranteed quality time.

It looks like in conflict zones if a wing destroys a ship, who ever took part and scored hits gets a share of whatever reward. Something similar with bounty hunting while trading is a little different. I read something like a trading authority hands out 10% bonus players for escorting traders while all wing members get their name added to discovered systems and a share of the $.

So quite a few more money making options.

What I do is have a Asp as my main ship and transport. If I have an ongoing conflict to campaign in I park it somewhere safe and buy a viper. A good viper costs about 3 million and if you sell all the components before selling the ship you only lose a few 10's of thousands that are easily made up. The tricky part is finding a good system to park the asp and buy all the mods you need for your Viper.

The Asp is great in combat 1:1 but 2 or 3 foes and it's a big target without much speed. It turns really well though, with latterals and reverse plus a little assist off you can turn with NPC eagles.

@ Scarstichez
I didn't shoot any security vessels before, but it does take much longer to take down their shields than regular NPCs at the RES or nav beacon. I don't know if it is just because regular NPCs have crap shields, and the conflict zone security ships are using A rated shields, or if the security ships have special military rated shields that we can't have. Maybe Frontier just tweaked things for fun. They don't seem to be using shield cell banks. They also seem to be very well armoured, as their hulls take a lot longer to take down too. I had to reload after only about 10 kills.

I didn't have much luck in my Asp. I did much better with the Viper. But one thing it did notice, was that if you stayed on the fringes, you could get 2-3 coming after you. But if you dove straight into the hairball, everybody was too busy to pay much attention to you. I probably had a ship shoot at me while I was shooting another only 20% of the time. YMMV. The Asp may do better if you stay to the middle, but maybe the Asp is just a juicier target.

@ Antmax
I believe that there are key bindings for push-to-talk and/or push-to-mute, so you don't have to use the switch on your cord. If they do have them, I'm not sure if they are only for in-game voice comms or not. Anyway, it's something to look into.
It's time to give this another go.

I think we should focus our efforts. Currently we are a small force and are engaged in a civil war in LHS 2541 in support of the Alliance. To split our efforts to aid another group not aligned to the alliance will diminish our efforts in 2541.

Ultimately I like to finish a job once I start it. Kind of hoping that 5% advantage for a period of say 24 hours is enough to stabilize. I keep meaning to look it up.

Welcome Captain Rush. You are welcome, but if you do not have access to Alioth yet, you are Cadet. Once you obtain the access you are called Jaeger. :)

So quick update, will be a lot more online from now on. I think everyone is up to date what to do? Civil war has broken out, so it's time to defend Alliance's honor once again.

Updated Roster, pm me if you see that your name should not or should be there.

If you do not have Alioth permit I think you should try to get that, although you are free to do as you fit. Just remember, if you do not have the permit you are cadet. You must earn your Jaeger title (the permit). ;)

Discussion about the Lugh was short with the Alliance High Command and we will stay at LHS 2541. I cannot stop you from going to Lugh, but I highly recommend you stay in LHS 2541. I personally agree with High Command and therefore decided to stay and organize Jaeger Operations at LHS 2541.

I know some of you might think that the fight for our brothers in Lugh has to be now, but I say to you "Patience". We will not abandon our like minded friends but NOW at this moment, we need to think our families and all the brothers in Alliance. They need us more.

Was a bit surprised to see Alliance Combine way ahead at LHS 2541. Looks like a complete wipeout overnight 95% vs 3% when I was last there before the 2nd patch announcement and I logged out.

Our work here must be almost done :)

Almost. There are some enemy groups lurking and waiting for their opportunity, so for the time being we stay at LHS 2541.

Speaking before a gathering of the Alliance Assembly today, Prime Minister Edmund Mahon has issued a warning to the Crimson State Group that it stands alone in its opposition to the Federation’s continued governance of Lugh.

“It is not the place of the Alliance to intervene in matters of legitimate Federal governance. No laws have been broken, no rights have been abused and as such no military aid will be forthcoming for the freedom fighters of Lugh. Similarly, until such time as the residents of Lugh have fully seceded from the Federation, any applications to join the Alliance of Independent Systems will be automatically rejected on the grounds that Lugh is not a fully functioning independent state.”

It is clear that we do not get involved in this an continue our mission.
