What is a skimmer in the mission boards?

It looks like one can make a million in just a few missions.

What are skimmers, are they fighters?

I want to try one of the missions, don't wasnt to get kidded or have to abort the mission, but neither cost very much because of insurance, etc...

Skimmers are little flying things on a planets surface that guard points of interest. They can be taken out easily with an SRV.

Head to the location which is usually a base that you can’t normally land a ship at and land a few km away. Head off in your SRV away from the base using the wave scanner to find POI’s and when you get close they pop out of the ground to defend them.

When you target them they will say Mission Target. Kill them. Rinse and repeat till done.

Most are wanted and worth 1k each. Some are not. You will get a fine if they are not. Keep the total fins under 1200 or so and it will not become a bounty.

Not sure how to use the wave scanner, then check YouTube for videos. Oh and pick up some of the containers in the surface that they are protecting that say Legal Salvage and sell at a station to add more to the haul.
