I really must fire up the beta and see where I am with regards to ranking up. I have concerns about powerplay and it's mainly based around a one thing. I don't have massive amounts of time to play and stuff like reputation decay really worries me but I will wait and see how it all pans out.

I think I may kit out a Vulture to do my CZ fighting instead of Red...perhaps see how much of a difference it makes. My Bonds/Bounties are close to 8,000, with a total profit of over 300 Million (Estimating, since I'm not at home.) Perhaps doing some fighting in a smaller ship again may push me over the edge...

Though.... like I said before, maybe I'm not even close. <.<

With 2 large hardpoints I very much doubt that it does. I would say if you really wanted to advance your rank you should join the Viper or Cobra community.

Same here, I have 2700 kills... still master though. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding how these things are calculated...

My understanding is that the value of a kill is dependent on the combat skill of the victim relative to the combat skill of the CMDR. Thus a novice CMDR killing a competent NPC has a far grater advancement effect than a master CMDR killing a competent NPC.
