must admit i got lucky when i did the ''just one more upgrade'' to the python.

as a rule of thumb , make sure you have 5/4 the value of a new ship. 1/4 left as cash in hand after you pay for the ship.

that should allw you to D class the kit (to save weight and increase your range) get cargo and still pay insurance if you have to

I almost have enough for a stock Python. But I will not buy it unless I have at least double +20%. Then I have room for upgrades, insurance, and some coin to buy cargo.

I have decided to keep the ships I buy now. I have three in the hanger right now. Just in case. Never want to end up back in a sidewinder.

I feel your pain, but yes, I agree with the title. We tend to see shiny and get drugged by the new ship smell.

Sorry for ur long grind loss. I always buy new ships outright now and keep my old, but then again I have never flown without coverage, but I can see how tempting that is at the top tier of ships, u think u r invincible.

Start all over with the free sidey and whatever cash you did have, as well as other ships if u didn't trade in.

Got many ships in back up for this kinda thing. Including my first Sidewinder. I feel your pain that is a lot of time and effort to lose

Thankfully, I do keep my ships. So I have my Viper and T6 to fall back on, just all that time and those credits gone.

did the same.had plenty of bonds to cover it.got a busted canopy.got to within 500m of docking.....boom.was 14k short of buy back

Well, you probably already know this, but always make sure you have money left over for 2 insurance re-buys and 2 holds full of cargo (if you're a trader) before purchasing a new ship.

I do feel for you, but at the same time...... stupid stupid stupid!

Just remember, this game is brutal and merciless and will stick it to you when you least expect it.

When I finally had the cash to buy my Anaconda, I flew off to Shinrata in my T9 to make my purchase. It was the culmination of weeks and months of playing since late beta. I dabbled in other activities here and there, such as exploration and a bit of light combat, but most of my time was spent trading. I get to about 20mm away from Jameson Memorial; I am now literally about 2 minutes away from buying the Anaconda, it will be the crowning achievement for the hours and hours of work I've put in trading. I get interdicted by a Deadly ranked Asp and about a minute later my T9 is a smoking pile of space debris. Talk about a slap to the face.

This game is brutal, it does not care about you.
