a perfect example of why this group is needed.

Postby AndyB » Mon Sep 29, 2014 9:40 pm

I decided to fight in the open at the LICZ near the station in the ibootis system tonight, i jumped inn and joined the Feds.

turns out this was a bad idea as the place was full of human players fighting for Eranin but i thought i'd give it a go anyway so picked a target and started my attack run.

i got one quick kill in before everyone in range turned on me and 3 or 4 ships started blasting me to bits, my shields went down very quickly so i did what any good pilot would and bugged out to recharge.

i got into SC with 87% hull so instead of returning to the station i thought i'd return so i could switch sides and be on the winning team.

i drop in to the LICZ and waited for the other ships to appear, the intention was to set my faction once they did so at this point i would still show up as neutral.

it didn't matter, as soon as i dropped out of SC i started taking hits to my shields. at this point i didn't stand a chance as the ships that were shooting me had yet to appear on my radar, nothing at all had appeared and yet i was still getting shot to shreds.

in my view you should never attack a neutral ship in a war zone, target them, track them sure but no firing until they have either fired at you or set a faction even if they did just do a boomerang jump to recharge.

my only option was to get the heck out of there, i saw no point offering my ship on a plate to players who have no honour.

this is basically two issues, being seen by those in the instance before you can see them, and total lack of respect for neutrality. it completely ruined my game.

i guess i wont go PvP for quite some time after that experience :(

That's exactly why I joined this group. I do not want to let anyone ruin my game experience. Griefers attacking on sight, "top speed racers" having large ships and rushing through the letterbox while docking, despite the fact there are some smaller ships just passing, etc. Some players simply seems to be too selfish...

The ugly face of unregulated multiplayer. Good riddance I say.

Let them have their frag fest. I don't want any part of it.

And you probably faced an griefer that went cold so you could not se him on your radar.
Iam glad you made it out in one piece so you didn't loose anything :)

Thankfully there are groups. FD made a very good design decision to create them.

Indeed a great design decision,
up until I joined the group I played mostly solo in order to avoid such situations.
Plenty of multiplayer games have that problem(the world is full of assholes)

Indeed it is. It can be quite a chore to navigate some times. :) I'm very pleased with this group and its primary intentions.

no, NOTHING AT ALL appeared on the radar when i jumped back in, no AI or players, not even the Impeccable.

also from what i could tell i was being hit from at least 2 angles - there were at least 3 human players present when i jumped out.
