Finished a few more missions, and the faction influence bar isn't increasing anymore. Is there a limit to how much a faction's influence can grow per day?

I don't think so, but I don't know for sure.

If you have time, can you do a couple missions for HIP 15868 Life LTD?

HIP 15868 LIFE LTD now showing as "civil war critical" in it's status. Same status for "official hip league" (controlling faction). War coming soon!
