What a week...
Decided to put a PAC on my Python and RNGineer it cause 2.2.03 was supposed to buff up the PAC.
Thought the RNGineer for PACs was The Sarge. So spent a few days in my Vette earning the 10mil cr in Combat bonds. I can only do 1 type of thing for so long before I get bored. Unlocked The Sarge, only to find that he does FSDs and FSDIs.
Checked Inara and sure enough it was the wrong RNGineer. Now have to unlock Bill Turner. No problem. 50T of Bromilite. I hate mining but have a dedicated ship for it. Spent a few days mining (realtime, I can only play for maybe 2hrs a day.) Finally got my 50T today. Cool!!!
Decided to head over to Bills. He's at Alioth. How come I can't plot a route there? Permit locked!!! WTH?!!?

So currently at one of the systems close to Alioth trying to get the permit while carrying 50T of Bromilite in my Python. And guess what? The faction that gives out the permit is in a "None" state. So missions are few (I really want to shoot the person who thought up of the None state.)

There goes my weekend, Ruins exploration plans.

Dang! Thanks for clarifying that for me, Phillipus. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of passenger missions. I like 'em anyway, so the exploration rank progression will be a sweet bonus!

Yep. Just make sure they are sightseeing missions, not "take me from here to there" missions.

For info - it took me 2 years to get to 33% Pioneer. This was by earning about 90 million CR in exploration data according to the stats panel. At this level, 1 million CR of exploration data = about 1% progress toward Elite. So I needed about another 66 million credits of exploration data to get to Elite. At my rate of progress, I figured it would take me at least another 18 months. So, I took the passenger mission route instead.

Looks like sightseeing misssions are next for me too. 62% Pioneer now... Tripple Elite here I come!
