EDDB.IO now has a Bodies feature that allows you to search for things like Arsenic and Technetium near where you are and can give you an idea in percentages of what you will find on planets. Check the Bodies section on the EDDB site.
Thanks for the tip, I had checked on EDDB and while I can't recall the names, the first planet or two were giving me the finger in regards to finding Technetium. I got some on Yen Nu B 1 eventually. I'm normally quite lazy and go for planets with a close arrival distance, but after failing to find any I thought I'd change tack, not that it makes any difference but I felt the need to vary something.
On one planet I happened upon a mining POI, but I would say it was more POS. Has anyone ever found anything worthwhile on a planet surface without a tipoff pre-spawn? I mean what are they thinking; "Hmm, let's see the likelihood of finding one of these is rare, so it'll take on average x amount of time to find one, that time spent bounty hunting/mission running would net around five million, so I think putting few minerals with a value of around six hundred credits will do nicely."
It's not even worth the effort to stop, kill the defences and destroy the mining units to scoop up the fragments, all the while having to call your ship back in so you can store this precious cargo.
I stupidly dared to think that I may be lucky enough to get some Technetium at one of these places, it seemed to make sense to me, that hope was short fucking lived. I don't know what the fuck they're smoking at FDev, but I don't want any. Genuinely beginning to wonder if the new mission payouts was actually a bug.
Thanks for listening
