I've just found my second ELW so i'm doing a bubble project, I plan on using this system as a base to scan everything within one jump distance. should i find another ELW within that radius I'll do the same again to expand the explored bubble around it. its my hope that i can daisy chain a few ELW's in fairly close proximity to each other. I'm doing this for RP if nothing else as a chain of habitable planets would make a good spot for a deep space colony. its just under 2,000 LY from Sol so far enough away to be worth it, yet close enough to reach within an hour or so of play time.

I visited Farseer once. That's it for my Engineer time so far. It looks like more and more data is being posted on the 'net to make it easier to find upgrade components. I may give the engineers a go after a few more weeks.

I've been keeping myself busy doing missions. They are much more interesting now than in 2.0. I spend 90% of my time in the Python, and haven't even taken my Vette out of Baliunas Hub in a couple of weeks.

Yep, the Python is the best ship for missions now. I got Farseer to upgrade my FSD to 30ly and I generally pick up some delivery missions paying 1-2 million at a time. Easy money.

Yeah, it seems SOME rails do more damage to shields than others, too. Not really sure why that is O.o

There a special PP version of the rail gun called the Emperor's Hammer, and you can get an additional 30% damage increase using synthesis. Since this is a class 2 weapon, that amounts to an impressive dose of whupp-ass.

Still doing the tourist thing, and finally managed to wiggle and squeeze myself through the permit minefield into the Witch Head Sector, using both the in-game and the EDDiscovery route plotters, and cursing their different limitations. Was quite close to making the obvious meme ("One does not simply fly into Witch Head Sector with 18.4 LY jump range"), and using it as a dartboard.

Now it is just the usual: Scanning stars, planets, and moons, hunt for USS and planetary POI, collecting surface materials, visiting barnacles, and generally having a blast of a time.

Re-rolled level 5 FSD range on the exploration conda and got 47.39 LY.

I pretty much needed to get upgrades before heading out on CNE. Even with a level 5 FSD range increase, I'm still at 25ly jump range. That's not pitiful, but it's not great either.

Also upgraded powerplant, distributor, shields, shield boosters, and thrusters before heading out. As un-fun as the grind was at times, I don't regret it.
