That was my thought in beta 6 when FD gave us all a $1mil bounty. I was interdicted twice by different ships in a matter of seconds in a system that was FAR away from the bounty source. Both NPC's said something about the 'tasty bounty' before they interdicted me.

Also, one of the ships that interdicted me followed me into the RES after I jumped out of the interdiction. He started firing on me as soon as I dropped into the RES. :o

These are dangerous times guys. Getting a bounty on your head actually means something now....... finally.

Just looked at the system map for TZ Arietis, and that is a high security system. My experience with interdictions in medium and high security systems is that security shows up within a minute after me taking fire. If your fight took at least that long, you have "report crimes against me" active, and there was no response, your theory is very likely to be right on the money.

Some of the sealclubbers in open are in for a rude surprise.

Security turned up, but did nothing, just ignored the Python. Well a quick sidewinder to Wyrd and the bounty is now dormant, plenty to do for the next week without going back there.

Hello,
Still scanning the new galactic arm. At this rate I'll probably be in the bubble when 2.2 hits. :(
Oh well, the hunt for the secret of the Formidine Rift goes on.
BTW, has anyone tried silent running against an NPC yet. The patch notes seem to indicate that it should work now.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

I am puzzled, again. Say I have a bounty issued by OOM, let's say a medium one,70.000cr.
I have left Azrael and gone to Cemiess. No OOM faction, there, right? How come that bounty hunters know that I am wanted in Azrael and interdict me from supercruise without warrant-scanning me?

Can we do that?

In a word: No. The NPC (or player) must be wanted by a local faction (maybe even the controlling faction) or possibly the local superpower to show up as WANTED in SC or normal space. All other active bounties only become visible with a kill warrant scan. And a dormant bounty is only visible to NPCs of the minor faction that originally issued it, and only after they scanned you.

Can we get a Seeing Eye Dog for Dawg? He hasn't a clue where the hell he is, where he is going, how to get there or when to go..... :P

Nope, I'm now on a mission to get him the Seeing Eye Bear that you asked for. :D

So how the heck do they know we have bounty on our heads, issued in a different system while in super cruise?

And it was a rather rhetorical question... :)

OK, I have no idea what is going on anymore.

I take a "kill skimmers" mission, go to the place where they said they would be, can't target them from my ship (don't have an SRV)? I'm sure I used to be able to. Get attacked my a local security ship when I wander to close to the nearby base, (dog fighting over a planet is great fun BTW), kill it get another murder bounty. Still can't target skimmers unless they shoot first, which they seem reluctant to do? Get too close to one, nudge it gently and loose my shields and 20% of my hull (wtf)!!.

Abandon mission out of frustration, go to next system and get a suicidewinder, go back and I'm no longer wanted, and no longer have a bounty? See a USS which comes up as a degraded signal threat zero. Ok I'll take a look whilst I'm here, cool, loads of material to pick up, just heading for the first material when three vipers jump in and wipe me out, threat zero my arse!

Pop back up in the system where I got the sidewinder, and guess what I now have a dormant bounty for the system I was just in that didn't fecking say I had a bounty anymore!!
