Then we got talking about Mining. After telling him that I was making about 7.5 an hour mining, he wanted to try it so I made an Asp Explorer Miner which we both bought and I taught him how to mine.

He decided to keep the Asp Miner, but I sold mine back. Then we spent an hour Shuffling his new ships back to his Home System. Didn't make much cask (Down about 2 mill on the day) but teaching a few things was fun.

I do have to say that it took me ages to name all those limpits... :P but seriously, my thanks to Lori for his immense patience.. :)

Found a big cluster of black holes. Scanned them all (15-20 of them) and called it for the night.

Doing some very profitable A-B-A trade runs in the Cutter. It flies like a pig, but you can't beat the credits per hour.

I'm getting close to one of my personal goals, which is to have total assets of $1Billion.

I should be able to check that box in a couple of days. :D

good luck on your set up, this was a huge issue for me also. I did get my controls to mostly work on the joystick I had, for me I didn't see the appeal of the srv.
For now I bailed on the srv until I find the patience and a reason to set up my new HOTAS for it.

Also to stay on the thread I am working on the CG for the "Ceremonial Heike Tea" now and the trips are long!
But I have a question if the goal doesn't make tier one do we still get payed to participate?

The SRV controls are meant to work with the mouse and KB and surprisingly enough you can set those controls in the controls section to do different things than what they normally do when you're flying.

Here is how its set up for me:
Drive Assist - Left Control ( set as a toggle )
Steer Left - A
Steer Right - D
Roll Left - Q
Roll Right - E
W and S are same as when flying
Vertical Thrust - Right Mouse Button ( button 2 )
Fire SRV Weapon - Left Mouse Button ( button 1)
Data Link Scan - Q ( I know its the same as roll, but it works )
Hand Brake - Space Bar ( set to HOLD )
Toggle Target - Mouse 4 ( if you have a gaming mouse or scroll wheel commonly referred to as mouse 3 )
Select Target - E
Divert Power to Engines - Up Arrow
Divert Power to Weapons - Right Arrow
Divert Power to Systems - Left Arrow
Balance Power - Down Arrow
Cargo Scoop and Dump Cargo same as when flying

Thanks for this, I dare not use my SRV for critical missions unless I have the controls exactly the way I want it. Specially not for missions I pick up from the Order's Searle port in Azrael.

I just wanted to record this for posterity. The 5th column (or 5C) bedeviling the AD power faction finally & definitively showed their hand by forcibly pushing Chnumar into the #1 position for preparation. The first time they did this ( with 110K tons of preparation material) they were beaten by the commanders of my PP faction.

But this time :

Image

You"re looking at approximately over 3 billion credits worth of preparation material. AD's counter prep on HIP 95350 is just at 177K tons currently.

The 5C's stated objective is the ff :

Some pie charts by @Dracaya_Tzentchel on the FD board :

Here's the kicker, the 5C's spokesman has mentioned that they MAY consider turning their attentions on ANOTHER target after they've pushed Chumar onto AD. Three guesses on who that will be :)

This is probably a lost cause but I'm a Browncoat, I"ll convert what I can spare and join the effort in fortifying HIP 95350.

Nope... don't need my own space station. I'm quite fond of the staff at Baliunas Hub. ;) I'd love to hire someone to move ships for me and feed me grapes while I rest in a hammock though. :D

The Cutter is a hell of a money maker, Dawg. $10mil or more per hour, no problem. The downside is that after an hour or so, I am bored and ready to do something else.

Drumroll please.......

Goal achieved! I am officially worth a Billion!

Now.... can someone tell me where the "cash out" button is in this game, so I can transfer these funds into my checking account? 8-)
