Jumped to Cubeo with my Keelback. With it's 64 ton cargo capacity it'll be more use there for PP fortification & preparation stuff than my Viper4. I never could get the weapon configuration right with the latter ship which is why I"ve avoided bringing it to the Exioce CZ. That is until I got the basic combo right with the Keelback - then everything clicked :)

Following the crowd, I picked up a Keelback to give it a workout. A-Rated, 64Tonnes and Fixed Dumbfires and Multi-Cannons for base assaults.

Initial thought is that the T6 heritage is there, and although its a little slow, it is on par with the Asp Scout which is more responsive and manoeuvrable. With most modules being the same between the Keelback and the Scout, the big bonus is the Cargo. The baby T6 can double up the Asp Scouts tonnage, and has an extra Utility slot. It has a Tricycle landing gear which seems easier to put down on the surface than quad gear ships (My Python lands easier than my Asp, which is weird).

And the Numbers don't do the Keelback Justice. It rolls VERY well and boost turns and in the Blue Zone it is quite responsive. Its Yaw at full throttle is better than the Asp Explorer. I think it deserves a look for anyone who is considering an Asp Scout but need a bit more tonnage.

Oh, and those engines on the back? They look amazing! The side pods rotate as well, and the cockpit reminds me of a Master Chief's Helmet. Win Win Win.

I am going to run this for a few days and decide if it could be a cheaper alternative to running my Asp Explorer on the surface. Although I miss the Security of Multiple Buggies. If it does work out, then I can refit my Asp as an explorer, and keep this for base missions. I bought it at I Sola Prospect in Brestla and paid the 20% tax on it because I was there. If I decide to keep it, I will strip and sell, then rebuy somewhere with a discount so I am considering this a Rental.

If you are thinking of trying the Asp Scout, consider the Keelback too.

Glad you liked it :) And I"ve decided to make this my preferred planetary assault/exploration vehicle too instead of the Viper4.

I was considering using a T6 for my Cubeo runs but the NPC interdictions are too frequent in Powerplay. The T6 is fast but it can't outrun everybody all the time. FD has also toned down NPC's interdicting you, then following you then interdicting you again and again. My Keelback can usually low wake or high wake to safety now - or fight which is something the T6 can't really do.

Today I did 1800 merits + 872 left over from last week :)

Also did some bounty hunting. I am pretty certain I am going to sell the Clipper. Just not sure of I am going to stay with the FAS or get a Python. The crappy jump range of the FAS is a real sore point and even with a fuel scoop it sucks. Like last night I was Brestla and I wanted to go to Heverduduna. It was all swell and dandy until the plotted course took me through the "dead zone" as I call it, one after an other of dead stars :( I made a few detours but nothing I did seemed to help. So back tracked back to Brestla and went to Dvorsi and from there to Heverduduna and of the 8 jumps, 7 dead star systems. Luckily at about the 1/2 way point I was able to refuel.

I made sure to stock up on some Jumponium in case I find myself a little short on a jump again. Cemiess 2 has a modest amount of Vanadium, if that's what you're missing, like I was.

I don't even know what that is :P I think its stuff I find planet side, but I get bored really fast driving on the a planet with nothing to see or do endlessly. I've actually landed and used my rover once.

It's been fun in CZ again today. Thanks everyone for the wings :)

It just before i left there was some sort of weird bug in CZ where it was almost empty and only ships that spawned were enemy ships (Good thing there came few at the time) Even after i jumped out and back in it was the same thing.

Latest influence tick stats. OOM is now at 17.1% influence, Crimsom Electronics at 7.4%. We now have a 9.7% lead.

Just 5.3% more and we win this war :)

If you collect the right rocks, you'll be able to make stuff that boosts your jump range for a single jump in the synthesis panel.

I made an earlier post calling it Liquid Schwartz, but apparently the distant worlds expedition has named it jumponium, so we'll go with that. I think I have enough for 2 or 3 jump boosts, just in case. I've been really close to having to throw up the ratsignal a few times, usually due to my own carelessness, and this stuff saved me on the more recent one.

Wow. The CZ was intense. Spent more time avoiding dumping into friendly commanders than killing NPCs. :)
At one point got pulled away from the main group and suddenly had about 4 NPCs gunning for me. Piping heat sinks and SCBs. Finish the one I was fighting, turned around and the rest were getting blasted by at least 5 CMDRs. Thanks for that CMDRs. :)

Have fun, fly safe. o7

Took a break from the cz's in exioce to get in on some empire ranking in hip 107016.

Resulting in a neat little profit of 144 million and the new rank of Duke :)
