I can state with confidence that the Keelback is indeed a combat freighter. Stepped into the Low intensity CZ with 2 xClass 1 pulse turrets , 2 x Class 1 gimballed guns and some Hull reinforcements. Actually getting more kills than my Viper3 there because the low intensity area has more OOM NPC ships to help you.
The larger power plant enables the pulse turrets to fire nearly constantly, wearing down the shields of small & medium ships fast. The Keelback's upper weapon mounts also give it a great firing arc. To the question of whether I took the ship in the high intensity CZ the answer is yes

But I didn't last very long due to the heavier armor & weapons of Crimsom ships in that particular warzone. The Keelback also is slow , unlike the T6.
Btw, this is just a heads up to those joining the war tomorrow and this weekend. There are reports of commanders joining the Crimsom side in the CZ and engaging Order commanders in PvP. This is of course legal in Mobius but for those who want to avoid any kind of PvP in this war - some trusted & veteran commanders will be putting up private groups for anyone who wants a purely PvE CZ experience.
Again, many thanks for all your support - this effort truly feels like a great community event
