Danke. Based on this incomplete website, http://lavewiki.com/rank-and-reputation, the numbers for combat and exploration seem to be correct - I'm not sure about trading. I made competent at just over 2M and expert at just over 4M. In exploration, I made trailblazer at just over 1M, pathfinder at just over 4M, and ranger at just over 12M. So I think it makes sense that you made expert at over 12M. I'm not sure that the 1500 kills matters, as I've read of people with a lot more that are still expert or even competent. I bet one could make expert with a few hundred kills if one only killed Anacondas, but there may be some minimum kill levels. Anyway, I think I have about 8M to go, so I better get to shooting.

Haven't got my exact numbers for trading and exploration, but for combat I was stuck at 1500 and a few kills / 12 million bounties and ranked up when I focused on higher-ranked targets while being in a combat zone. So I'm quite sure it's not (only) the numbers that matter but the target ranks.

As I only trade for paying bigger ships and components (mostly rares) and exploration is just a side job (scanning while doing trade runs), these ranks don't really mean much to me ... but now, with my upgraded combat focused ASP and pure combat Viper, I'll be working on ranking up combat from Master to Dangerous. Quite curious about when I'll be reaching the next rank-up, doing combat zones and bounty hunting

I agree there may be some minimum requirements for ranking up in combat, but I think if you met the minimums, they still want you to reach at least 12M for Master. They just give you higher bounties for bigger ships and higher ranked opponents. I'd expect Dangerous to be way up there - maybe 60M credits or more. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting.

After getting a Viper solidly kitted out for slaughter, I took it for a few spins around the local nav beacon. Nothing to exciting the first time. Couple other Vipers and one or two Cobras. My second foray proved far more fruitful with a 60k Asp, and an 80k Anaconda, both Experts to my Novice. Haha. I had help with the Anaconda, of course. System security and all, few NPCs too, but they didn't make it through the fight. At the end, it was just me and him duking it out for about four minutes before more SysSec decided to show up. It got a bit hairy, but I prevailed once the NPCs were there to draw some of the heat. Haha. Good thing, too. I was out of shield cells!

Oh! And after cashing in the bounty vouchers, I'm now Alliance Friendly. Whoo.

Now completed the Empire and Federation Navy chains. Python is parked up, got enough cash for a decent Asp so its time to go for a trip out, going to start with "Nutters Exploration Training Missions" and then take it from there me thinks. Going to team up when Wings goes live so if we run into trouble on the return leg then we can call the cavalry. Happy Hunting whatever form it takes

Just landed after a trip to the Veil nebulae, Sadr, and the North America and Pelican nebulae. About 4m made on the trip, took me about a week. Not a great area for black holes, but there was one Earthlike and several ammonia worlds.

Next up is gaining a bit more cash for a new toy.

I wanted to work on my combat rating but couldn't find any conflict zones. In the end I took the trip to Tanmark and joined the community goal fighting the pirates. I started off in Mobius but with other Cmdrs in the nav point we were just doing each other out of kills (very politely though - I had a couple of very nice chats as well).

I switched to solo and have collected over 1.2M in bounties so far, putting me in the top 5% (of just over 800 contributors) as of bed time last night. With another 5 or so days to go this could get interesting.
